There’s a myth that street or road-side food vendors don’t make a lot of money, but it’s a lie. Depending upon the location and the quality of food they provide, they can make good profits.
But if we are to talk about in numbers, then we know of street food vendors, which is selling Chapatti (a popular Ugandan local snack), he was selling at least 200 chapattis per day. Each chapatti is priced for Ugx 500 per piece.
His daily income was about Ugx 100,000. At a 40% margin, he was making about Ugx 60,000 per day, which is Ugx 1,200,000 per month. We know very well that not many jobs in Uganda pay that well.
